Warm, accessible therapy for getting un-stuck

Trauma-informed and person-centered therapy provided in-person and virtually in Austin, TX

About Maya

Welcome! I am a fully bilingual (Spanish), Internal Family Systems trained therapist located in Austin, Texas. I was born in Central America and spent the first few years of my life in Guatemala before moving to the Texas-Mexico border, where I spent the rest of my formative years. The experience of being bilingual and growing up between two cultures greatly shaped my narrative and identity and informs how I work with clients as they navigate theirs.

I draw on Internal Family Systems and Attachment Theory to support clients who are feeling stuck and are looking to heal emotional and spiritual wounds so that they can feel more integrated in their everyday lives. I enjoy hearing others’ stories and empowering them to revise and rewrite these narratives to highlight their strengths and unique gifts.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin. I earned a Master’s Degree in Translation from the Universidad de Granada in Granada, Spain and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I am Level 2 IFS trained.
